Senior Friendly

In cooperation with the Alberta Council on Aging, six Canada Safeway stores have now been declared "Senior Friendly". Located in Edmonton, Camrose and Calgary (North Hill), these stores have unique features such as motorized scooters, taller and smaller shopping carts, larger signs, wheelchair accessible washrooms and non-skid flooring.

Klondike Family Breakfast

The Klondike Festival has been a long-standing tradition in the Edmonton area and offers a variety of food, entertainment and fun for all ages. Through our partnership of the Safeway Family Breakfast program, local residents are able to enjoy the Festival right in their own community - at their local Safeway Store. Calgary Stampede

Safeway is a proud Stockman’s Club sponsor of the Calgary Stampede known as the “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”. Through the sale of advance midway tickets, our shoppers also enjoy the ’greatest value on earth’. At the Stampede, young families are invited to the “Safeway Buckeroos” area to enjoy free and fun-filled entertainment for the little tykes. For those a little more daring, a ride on Safeway Skyride is another great long-standing Stampede tradition.

Kidsport

Safeway is a founding partner of the Alberta-based KidSport Program. Thanks to KidSport, economically disadvantaged children throughout the province are provided funding and equipment so they can participate in local sporting activities.
